Riverside Camper Park on the Famous Little Susitna River.

Boat Launch at the RV Park

Along the clean clear waters of one of Alaska's top salmon fishing streams, Riverside Camper Park is an outdoorsmans dream come true. Cast a line into the Little Susitna River and depending upon the season, it could be a giant King Salmon, Silver Salmon, Sockeye Chum or Pink Salmon that swallows your lure. Besides the popular Alaska salmon fishing that brings so many campers back to this campground, there are also rainbow trout and dolly varden in the river and fishing for them can be a lot of fun.

Location is key for enjoying your time in Alaska and Riverside Camper Park is smack in the middle of all the fun. Just 50 highway miles from Anchorage and a short 8 miles from Wasilla, Home to Sarah Palin who served as mayor of Wasilla before being elected to Governor of Alaska. Sarah Palin was then chosen by John McCain as his vice-presidential running mate in the 2008 United States presidential election. Houston Alaska makes for a great central location to enjoy your vacation and explore all that Alaska has to offer.

If fishing flows in your vain's as it does in our, and if your excitement level sores with the thought of a mighty Alaska salmon as it darts from bank to bank in a feeble attempt to rip the rod from your powerful grasp. Flip a fly or cast a lure from the on site banks of the famous Little Susitna river. This has been a top destination of locals and visitors alike but be forewarned as the camping sites are popular and best reserved ahead.
Local fishing guide services are available at the campground office.

Fish for five different species of Alaskan salmon (Coho, King, Sockeye, Chum, and Pink) here on the Little Susitna. Note: this river is second only to the Kenai River in number of Coho (Silver Salmon) caught. Spring through fall, the fishing here is outstanding.

Kenny & Sheila Mortensen welcome you to Riverside Camper Park and the world of Alaska. Located on the George Parks Highway close to the picturesque town of Houston. Amenities include a post office, grocery store, service station and the scenic beauty of the great outdoors. There is a licensed fishing guide available but again try to book ahead to assure availability.
